We want to see you dancing in the street!

Celebrate the last bank holiday of the year with a day of music, dancing, dressing up, games, food and booze, and a lot of fun. Brought to you by Shoreditch venue The Book Club, Bookstock is going to ROCK your socks off!

The Correspondents are Mr Bruce and Chucks. And they’re playing on the main stage at Bookstock! A festival-favourite MC/DJ duo, whose sound is at once new and familiar, The Correspondents revamp vintage sounds for the modern ear.  Expect jazz, swing and boogie-woogie laced with drum-loops, synths and bass.

Playing a boogie-licious DJ set, electro-pop-star Little Boots and her partner in dancefloor crime Lauren Verge (from 679 Artists) are going to rock the party. Expect disco, pop, bouncy house, and all manner of fun stuff as these two menace the Bookstock main stage.

We also have Brassroots, East London’s biggest, brashest and bounciest eight-piece brass band, Disco Shed presenting their very own ‘Shedphone Disco’, Musical Bingo to bring the Bookstock HOUSE down, and the original DIY disco, Bring & Share, all bringing that festival feeling to the heart of Shoreditch. Plus Bookstock has invited some of The Book Club’s favourite DJs to join in the party; Electro Swing Club, Big In Japan and Swing Patrol will be doing their thing and Tim of Filthy Dukes fame will be making sure the day goes out with a bang!

A hard-living gang of grillers, thrillers and lady-killers that serves up a puzzling array of carnal delights… The Meat Wagon will be bringing the meat to Bookstock! And Leonard Street’s latest resident, ICN gallery, is opening its café to get into the Bookstock spirit. You’re invited in to chill out with some delicious Japanese foods and cold tea.  Those ginger moustached gents over at Ginger Joe will be getting your head in a spin with lashing and lashing of alcoholic ginger beer, and a bit of a sign song.  Pure Evil is bringing some ‘POP’ to Bookstock… And The Griffin are planning something special on the day too.

We’ll have a small army of face painters and entertainers, a dress-up zone, games and dances. Bookstock – a day of music and magic, prancing and posing, balloons and bunting, cocktails and conga-dancing…

The FREE event will run til 9pm.  The Main Stage will now close at 7pm, when we will move the FREE party inside.  The after party will beging at 9pm for which there will be a £5 door charge.
